Imbali Capital is an independent investment manager. We run a research-led systematic strategy on a platform we built ourselves, and we hold it to the standards of a much larger institution.

Evidence before conviction
We believe what the data shows out of sample, after costs, and nothing else. Strong opinions are welcome; they are tested like everything else.
Risk has the last word
Limits are set in advance and enforced by systems, not by mood. No signal and no person can talk the book past them.
Build, don't borrow
We own our data pipeline, research tools and execution platform, so we understand every number we act on.
Write everything down
Every rule, change and result is recorded and versioned. If we cannot explain why the system did something, we stop and find out.
Candour over comfort
We report what we know, what we don't, and what went wrong, plainly and promptly.
Rushil Chetty
Rushil founded Imbali Capital after building TipSheet, the research and execution platform the firm runs on. He designed its data pipeline, testing framework and risk controls, and leads the firm's research.
He is studying economics at Princeton University, with coursework in price theory, behavioural finance and mathematical methods. Originally from South Africa, he divides his time between Princeton, New Jersey and Houston, Texas.
